Minox B camera
« on: January 26, 2016, 11:49:46 AM »
Thinking about cameras and resolution this morning I was reminded of the Minox B film camera. Most people will either have seen one in spy movies or may have even had one. In the early '60s I was on an outfit which used them and they were really a little marvel. While most people will associate them with photographing documents they could be used for decent photos at about 500' distance.

One of our Austers had a pod fitted under the left wing - the name Viking Pod seems to swirl through the mists of time - into which a Minox B was fitted  and operated remotely and we trialled it taking covert pics at low level. I never saw the results as the film was sent elsewhere to be developed. I'm curious as to how the Minox compared to the Vinten F.24 and F.95 at low level.

I've not been able to find out anything on the Web about the pod and wondered if by chance there are any older members who know anything about it.

I could have sworn it was just a fly on the windscreen.
