Guys, looking to see if anyone can give me a bit of knowledge on scanning for clearance slots etc to Atlantic on hf or mhz, can I pick up hf Atlantic traffic on a hand held scanner? I was told baofeng do good stuff handheld at the min?

Firstly , here's a link to the NATS site listing all he frequencies you might need, at least on VHF.

https://www.aurora.nats.co.uk/htmlAIP/Publications/2020-11-05-AIRAC/html/index-en-GB.html

Click on AIR TRAFFIC SERVICES AIRSPACE on the left hand side

Now, do you mean SHANWICK oceanic clearance frequencies? ( SWANWICK is London control )

I'm not sure if any Baofengs cover airband, I have had a couple of them and only remember them covering 2m/70cm - 140 to 180 , and 430 to 470, but i might be wrong.
They certainly won't cover any HF frequencies.
You would be better off with a Uniden 125 or something like that for VHF/UHF.
For HF you might consider a SDR like a SDR Play RSP1A if you don't need to take it portable?

HF freqs would be 5.616 MHz , 5.598 MHz and more....

Let us know more detail of what you are after :)
