Merlin those are beautiful photos, i particulary like the single red with landing light in foreground.

Thanks. That's actually the cropped version. The full version has the complete landing light but the Hawk is off to one side due to his angled approach. So I centred on the Hawk instead of the light.

Another one I created last night (really getting into this Lightroom tool)

Great shots everyone :)

Next year will be "bigger, better and longer" according to FDD Rick Peacock Edwards end of show comments.

I've been told that they are hoping to get the Typhoon back next year as well as the Irish Air Corps who were unable to attend this year.

The Scout coming down from the UAS was a last minute thing, the council rang them on the Thursday evening and asked them to provide another item if possible due to the Hunter and Provost cockpits being moved to Downs road and not Castle Park as planned.

There was only the Jet Provost cockpit at Downs Road along with the Typhoon - I didn't see any sign of the Hunter cockpit

The nose of that JP looks like it's been fitted upside down  ???

It looks like it`s a Strikemaster nose,or at least part of one.
The nose light is missing, and on the Strikemaster the curved part of the nose light should be at the top, with the flat part at the bottom,as shown in my photo.
The JP usually had two smaller lights, but I suppose they might vary as well.

I think next year we need to group our pennies together and charter a NIAE boat! Seems those sitting off the coast had the best view!

Apparently this year was a record attendance. Over 100,000 people in Newcastle for a show that had little in way of jets.

It does annoy me seeing people only coming for the Red Arrows and going as soon as they are finished, but they do still draw the 'casual day trip' crowds

2017 sponsor Rockwell Collins (who took over 2012-2016 sponsors B/E Aerospace) has been sold again. United Technologies Corporation have bought it over. A lot of concerns the place may be shut down or have massive layoffs. Wonder what that will mean for Newcastle 2018?
