Military Aircraft Movements - Update on rules Important
« on: April 13, 2016, 11:18:21 PM »
A review on the posting of military aircraft movements has been ongoing by the moderators, and it has been decided to make some changes to the rules governing these posts.
These changes have been made to give more people a chance to see the visiting aircraft,we would ask that members share any information they have sensibly, and responsibly for everyone`s benefit.
If any member has anything they want to ask or suggest, please PM one of the moderator`s and wait for a reply.

It is OK to post up about the aircraft in the General Forum,ie BFS or BHD pages once they are approx 25-30 mins out and if........

(i) You are happy to be ID`d as the source of the information.
(ii) The source of the information is not classified, or restricted in any way.
(iii) The aircraft in question is not regarded as sensitive.eg (AF1, Stealth, Special Forces etc)

Post on the Military Movements (which is restricted to members only) if........

(ia) You are giving more than 2hrs notice of an arrival,it can be posted in the general forum nearer the time.
(i) You do not wish to be publicly ID`d as the source.
(ii) The Aircraft is regarded as sensitive.
(iii) Source is classified or restricted. (IN WHICH CASE THE USER IS POSTING ENTIRELY AT THEIR OWN RISK)

If you are in ANY doubt about which section to post in-then post it in the Military Movements Section.

DO NOT post detailed routing of the aircraft in or outbound in the General Forum. It is ok to give a basic compass direction such as W,NW,NE etc.
If you wish to post more detailed routing,it MUST be kept in the Military Movements Section (Members Only)

DO NOT ask operational questions in the General Forum about the US military aircraft using BFS -they are purely for fuel stops, and or crew rests and nothing else, despite what some may try to suggest.
If you wish to ask operational questions, please restrict them to the Military Movements section,or use the PM feature to ask.

If you wish to post photographs of the visiting aircraft,it is strongly recommended that you use a watermark to protect your image rights, and you may also wish to consider posting the photos in the members only section.

If possible provide a LOCAL ETA (ie time at BFS Aldergrove or other location) PLEASE DO NOT use ZULU time as it can cause confusion.

Anyone posting up info, must not be interrogated or ridiculed about their information source, or questioned about it`s reliability by other members.
All information posted is subject to change or cancellation, so if it does not happen, put it down to experience.
At all times, the moderation team reserve the right to moderate any and all posts, if, in their view: the post contravenes any rules/guidelines of the forum, including those listed above: places into question or disrepute the reputation of the forum: or can be seen to be irrelevant to the discussion taking place.

We hope these changes are clear to all.

The Moderator Team.
