04 is scheduled to be upgraded from a localiser to ILS approach by the end of this summer in time for next winter which involved the 22 ILS being reconfigured.

EGAC already has an NDB, 'HB', which is currently unserviceable. Because the 04 work requires the 22 ILS to be taken off air, the HB is intended to be repaired so that instrument approaches can still be made to both 04 and 22 should they be required. Only a visual or NDB approach would be available for 04 or 22 during this time.
