FLYBE BECOMES FIRST EVER INDEPENDENT CARRIER TO CREATE REGIONAL NETWORK HUB IN UK

Northern Ireland air travellers are to benefit from a number of additional flight options thanks to Flybe’s creation of a regional network hub at Manchester International Airport.

Flybe, which is the largest airline operating at George Best Belfast City Airport, is the first ever independent carrier to create a regional network hub and in total the move will bring an additional weekday choice of 86 improved connections. These will be of particular benefit to passengers travelling from Aberdeen, Belfast City, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Inverness and the Isle of Man as well as those flying with its franchise partner, Loganair from Norwich.

Specifically for Northern Ireland passengers, services from Belfast to Exeter will increase from one daily return to four including three via Manchester; and from Belfast to Inverness another two daily returns via the new hub will be added to the single direct service. The creation of the hub will also enable easy access to Norwich from Belfast with three daily return flights, a route that until now was not available
