The airfield is closed for the car culture thing. Only a helicopter will be flying

Watched a small GA doing a flight around the coast this afternoon, very low level, sub 100ft. No ID on the aircraft, as it caught me unawares but looked possibly like a vans. Bright yellow. Any ideas anyone? Was spotted in the very south east

RV-7 G-CFTT was up and around this afternoon.  Would that fit?

https://www.caa.co.uk/applicationmodules/ginfo/ginfo_photo.aspx?regmark=G-CFTT&imgname=G-CFTT001&imgtype=jpg

Seems to have been busy from 13:30 onwards, I lost reception of it for an hour or so shortly after that.  Then landed Ards 16:55 and away an hour later.

That's the gent. Well that explains where you lost reception. He was buzzing beaches down round the mournes. Landing at 16:55 in ards would fit the bill as well, he buzzed me around 16:25 or so

22nd

Not sure where he has been but Luscombe G-AKTI arrived this morning at 06:55; no-one in the office to answer him :)

Has just taken-off again. Doing circuits.

Lovely to see it airborne.

Haven't had the pleasure of BE9L M-TSRI for a while!  Landed 16:40.

In from Leeds as AAD922C ( Mann Air / Timpsons ).

Departed 17:00 AAD922D to Chester.

Edit: looking through the logs, M-TSRI was in earlier in the day as well.  Arrived 08:25 as AAD922A and departed 09:00 AAD922B.

Another visitor on the 22nd was this Cherokee, all-white undersides.  Went over my head around 14:00 but didn't catch the reg.

Looks like G-_VN_

Edit: G-BVNS in a new livery with the cheatline going up the tail. Departed around 15:20.

Also P28A G-BTAM in and out quickly after 19:00

C150 G-BSSB from Haverfordwest has been busy the past hour or so.  Blue trim down the side makes it look like UFCN.

The Vigilants aren't yet back to full operations after the pause / grounding / whatever-you-call-it last year.  I think there are some AEFs in England back online with them but not here yet.  I'm not in the ATC loop anymore ( despite repeated offers to volunteer! ) so I don't know the timeline.

I see that G-EMAC and three of the club Cessnas were lined-up on the apron yesterday afternoon, UFCN and a pair of the 172s.  Seemed to be quite a few of the Car Culture attendees who came down for a look at the airy-machines.

Odd to look down on the airfield this morning and see the grass covered in cars and tents!

Yeah,he started off repairing mowers from a shed, and the buisness grew rapidly from there. His premises are just a mile from St.Angelo airfield.

That C172 G-BTMR that NISPOT caught yesterday is inbound to Ards at 09:30.  Not sure where he overnighted, possibly St Angelo. Away 10:45

Microlight G-__EE departed 10:55 heading for IoM.  I think I heard a 'sierra' mentioned in the reg which would make it Quik GT450 G-SEEE from Ikley near Leeds, but nothing evident on the webcam.

G-BNXU was up a fair bit this morning.

Whilst enjoying a pastry at Lidl it seems that I missed a visit by painted-like-an-L-4 Piper Cub G-BMKC which was in for an hour from 16:00

G-__CO up in the circuit now, looking to see what it is...

Doh! Silly Smudge... have to add that to my list.

Red possibly-a-Taylorcraft thing departed a short time ago.  Perhaps G-BPHO.

That would seem to be that G-BMKC to the left in the webcam pic here.

Interestingly this used be based at Ards in the past and was owned by Jeff Salter.
