RAF 100 Special Liveries
« on: March 28, 2018, 04:29:57 PM »
I have to say, this is a rather pitiful attempt by the RAF on this one. Doesn't even fill the full tail :/

Looks like (not confirmed) to be the 2018 Typhoon display jet as this is the one being used in practice for the display.

Also now on a Tucano

I am shocked; three words sum up what I think of the RAF`s " efforts",if indeed that is all they have planned. Feeble, pathetic and embarrassing.

The Ghost Tiger puts the RAF to shame :/

Reds have gotten the 'decal' now too.

As have the Chinook on the front and back.

They were conspicuous by their crapness at the Tiger Meet last year.
I'm sure it's something to do with budgets.

Could have came up with something better myself!

Surely they could go to town on at least one aircraft with paint and airbrushing

Someone on another forum put in a FOI request regarding the RAF 100 logo. The bottom part made me laugh, and not in a LOL way.

Quote
A search for the information has now been completed within the Ministry of Defence, and I can confirm that information in scope of your request is held. The RAF100 logo – sometimes referred to as the ‘quarter roundel’ - was designed by the Air Media Centre (AMC) at Headquarters Air Command, an in-house team of civil servants that includes a number of graphic designers, at no additional cost to the tax payer.

The decision to create a bespoke logo for RAF100 was based on the need to have a clearly identifiable, distinct, and consistent visual mark that could be used across a wide range of different applications to denote the RAF100 campaign. The quarter roundel design was based on the intent to capture the essence of the existing and very strong RAF brand, whilst at the same time producing something specific to the RAF100 campaign
