1652 - BMR9122 - G-JOTR - RJ85 - from London City.

Was heading for LUNEX to start the DME Arc, then went direct to the NDB (avoiding weather), after that started the outbound radial as published from the NDB.

1817 - BMR6KZ - to Stansted.

2155 - BMR2NY - from Stansted.

Pilots reported a green laser beam entering the cockpit at around 5 miles from touchdown. From his description it seems to have come from somewhere in Greysteel.
Also wondering if these guys have the full set of approach plates to hand as again they chose to approach via the EGT. Seems very counter - productive to do so from the direction they were approaching from and to not use COLRE or even DUNGV for that matter.
And as side note that has to be the loudest RJ85 Iíve ever heard. Flew across my house and you would have thought it was the space shuttle!

I wonder has the issue with G-RJXG come to light again and it needs a good look at? As for the approach plates I would assume theyíre on EFBs now and I would be surprised if a ACMI carrier like them doesnít carry updated charts for all UK regional airports onboard. The laser incidents are getting very common now in the locale. It will be a busy week for the airport once that makes it to the papers.

I cant understand why they would make multiple approaches in such a way for any other reason other than they dont have the data. No weather issues to avoid either. As a pilot myself it seems very odd to me. When Eastern were in with the Saab 2000ís a while back, the 08 ILS was also unserviceable at that time too. The crew couldnít fly the NDB/DME procedure to runway 08 stating that they Ďwerenít set up for ití. This caused quite a bit of frustration on the ATC side and thus a NOTAM was promulgated saying that any crew unable to fly the NDB/DME procedure had to notify them before flying. All very odd.
Tenner says MP is all over the laser incident in the coming days too.

Hopefully MP will have other things to talk about once word gets to him. Funnily enough I was going through pictures that I got from my garden earlier in the year and there was a time G-RJXB (operating BMR52ED one morning) shot a visual to 08 during May (before the ILS was replaced) was an absolute cracker! Coming right over the garden at no more than 1000ft I would say. Been a fun few days since Sunday anyway.

Do you have any idea why LPL on a Sunday is earlier now?
