Langford lodge airfield
« on: November 22, 2018, 11:03:12 AM »
Anyone been down to langford recently?, if anyone can sneak in anymore or anything?? Ive been down countless occasions and find it a really interesting place. Word is there are thousands of jeeps and cars , possibly aircraft buried when the americans left after the wars. Id be interested if anyone had info or wanted to get down and have a poke about some time.

Don`t go poking around Marko, that would be a bad idea, the site belongs to Martin-Baker,and as such is pretty much off limits to the general public since the UAS left.
The Ulster Modeler`s used to have access to fly there, but that was knocked on the head a few years back as well.
The only current public access is a few farmers that lease the land for crops.

It`s such a shame that the UAS had to move from the site as there is so much history there, the tower, parachute shed, and one big hanger,as for aircraft and vehicles being buried,I have heard some were dumped after the war,but if you want more info-the UAS is the place to contact,Ernie or some of the older ones will have plenty to tell.
