BOAC Retro scheme Boeing B747
« on: February 19, 2019, 09:26:49 PM »
As Retro schemes seem to be all the rage, when airlines aren`t busy going bankrupt,BA have come up with this rather lovely BOAC Boeing 747 on G-BYGC.

https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/pictures-boac-747-retrojet-marks-british-airways-ce-455845/

A number of other specials are expected from BA,such as the blue/grey "Landor" colours of the 1980s and the Negus & Negus-designed red, white and blue "Union Jack" scheme introduced in 1973 when BA was formed in its current guise. An Airbus A319 is also believed to be set for a makeover, into the 1960s colours of BEA.

2nd BA aircraft going for a paint job tomorrow. Info from another forum

BA's second heritage livery aircraft.

G-EUPJ A319 ferries LHR-Shannon tomorrow (23rd) for repaint

It will emerge in the 1959-1968 BEA livery (red square on a white tail).

It won't however get red wings due to current wing paint reflectivity requirements
