C5 Galaxy
« on: April 21, 2019, 10:08:39 PM »
Can any one confirm if a C5 has visited us. I searched the G8 movements threads and couldnít see if any had visited during the build up to it. If memory serves me right (I stand to be corrected) C17ís did all the work.

If anyone can confirm a C5 visit it would be appreciated.
Ian

No C5 Galaxy`s visited during the G8,but I believe there was at least one when President Clinton visited in 1995.

3 C5 Galaxy aircraft visited NI on the 30th November 1995.

Also with them came

VC25A - Air Force 1 (SAM29000) and a back-up VC25A (SAM28000)
2 C-137s (Military 707)
Press Corps 747 - Tower Air
2 VC-60 Seahawk Helicopters
MH-53 Sea Dragon Helicopter
CH-53 Super Stallion Helicopter

The 4 Helicopters performed multiple formations over the next few days over Belfast Lough & Glengormley Gap.  I'll scan the photos and info tomorrow from a book I have detailing the visit.
