Airband radio

Hi guys, lockdown question, is fm airband still the way aircraft communicate to towers, approach and ground or is the internet starting to affect this?

Airband is AM but otherwise, yes that's still largely how it's done in "normal" airspace.
The HF system that is used over Major World Air Route Areas, Like the oceans and deserts is gradually being outmoded by satellite based comms.

Thanks, have just a handheld analogue radio and was looking to know is there anything else i can tune into as very little overhead traffic at the minute. :-\

Unfortunately we can't listen to what's not there!
Should get a bit more interesting in the next couple of weeks as some semblance of normality returns.

There are a few live ATC broadcasts that you can listen to     https://www.liveatc.net/   for example, or you could go a googling and see what you find.
