Site slow to load

Has anyone noticed the site being rather slow to load up over past few days, or is it just me ?

Seems to run better on chrome , rather than (IE) Edge. Maybe it`s the bonus of living out in the sticks LOL but other sites seem to be fine.  :-\

It was a bit slow the last couple of days here too, and sometimes giving a timeout error or a page not available white screen. This was on Chrome Version 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Seems to be going ok today though.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem, or related , but for a while now when I load the main forum page it is fairly quick to load. I then usually head to the bottom of the page when the most recent posts are listed.
If I choose a post, any post, it doesn't make a difference, the post will start to load, showing the first post, then will take up to 20 seconds for the remaining posts to load in fully.

Is this something similar to what you are experiencing?

Well actually it has been a bit of both what you have said and Jas, seems to be fine now.
I suppose some of it could be down to the sheer volume of people online due to the pandemic, especially areas where broadband speed is snail like.

OK , It might not be related to this.... as this has been happening to me for longer than the lockdown.
Using Chrome, on all PC/Laptops connected to the home Virgin Media 100MB network I get this.
Also, when connected to WiFi on my phone, also using chrome , same thing.

But... as a test I disconnected off WiFi onto 4G on my phone and it loaded in straight away, no hiccups or waiting.
So, it's either my network or something to do with Virgin Media.
( All other websites have no such issues )

100Mb/s ! We have 6.8 Mb/s download and 5.86 Mb/s upload where I am, like I said the joy of being out in the countryside, hey !

Have updated files and ran some maintenance on the site but there still seems to be a problem with the messages within the topics loading. I'll continue to look in to it.

I have myself signed in 'forever' as I am the only one who uses this computer, but today every time I come to the site I am signed out and have to re-enter password manually, as saved password in chrome gives an error.

edit: Actually accepted the 'remember password' this time.

Hasn't logged me out since yesterday. What address do you use when searching for the site? I had been using niaviation.co.uk but was logging me out so started using niaviation.co.uk/index.php since yesterday and it hasnt logged me out. :)

the url I had bookmarked had www in it, and I was having issues with being logged out. I updated it to the non-www version and it works grand. Maybe something going on with URL rewriting? PHP ini files might be something to check.
