Aer Arann Suspends flights
« on: July 28, 2010, 07:46:13 PM »
Aer Arann has suspended its services from Cork to Dublin and Belfast. The routes will cease to operate from 31 August.

It currently operates one return flight per day, except Saturdays, between the cities. Both routes are served by the same Dublin-based aircraft.

The routes have been suspended because one aircraft is being returned at the end of a lease agreement.

Passengers with bookings for flight from September on will be refunded.

Aer Arann currently flies into George Best Belfast City Airport.

In a statement Aer Arann said it would consider reopening the routes if its fleet expanded.

"We sincerely regret having to suspend these services and the inconvenience that it will cause our loyal customers on both routes," said Andrew Kelly of Aer Arann.

"Unfortunately, however, we have an aircraft leaving the fleet and this has an obvious but regrettable impact on our schedule."
