It`s difficult to know exactly, but the flypast is to be over the City Centre.

I would imagine they would run in from Lisburn direction, over the City Hall, and then out along Belfast Lough;but that is pure speculation on my part.

That is the usual route taken by aircraft doing a Remembrance Day Flypast.

They may return to BFS,but they have other UK City flypasts to do,so it may just be the flypast and then depart to the next venue.

If we could get a list of any fly-bys prior to and after Belfast's it might give us a better notion of the direction they'll take? They could come from one venue over fly Belfast before heading to the next, and not even stop at Aldergrove? I think a wee stroll up Cave Hill might be in order that day?

They are doing a BATTLE formation fly-past over CARDIF, BELFAST, EDINBURGH then LONDON all part of the olympic games. So i think they would do cardif then b/fast then edinburgh then on to london.

AERTANK,

Unfortunately, I can't even remember when the last fly-past over Belfast was, never mind remembering which route they flew. I don't think they would stop at Aldergrove unless they needed to refuel, but I highly doubt that! I also think you're correct - A stroll up to Cavehill is indeed in order for the 27th. 8)

RAF Aldergrove and JHC Aldergrove always do a Remembrance Day Flypast subject to suitable weather.

Route is BFS to Lisburn, over City Hall, over Belfast Lough, turn left at Carrickfergus, then back to BFS.

I would expect them to be over City Hall at 13.00

As it is mentioned on the JHC site,I imagine they are landing at BFS at some point.

Details of the flypasts are not yet on the Red Arrows site, but that may change through the week.

according to the Down recorder today they are going to do a flypast over Newcastle as they are sorry they cant perform at the Festival of Flight in August. So you could get a smoke on over Newcastle.

NOTAMS are in ZULU time so ADD ONE HOUR.

Flypast should be 1301 -will  we get sunshine? I`m in work so won`t get to see it,but Cave Hill does sound like a good spot to view from.

Can you drive up to any where near there,or do you have to hike up through Belfast Castle?

AT, I have thought about going to Cavehill, but I'm not sure how close you can get, and how far you have to climb! Might just stick to going into the city center, really not sure, is there anywhere else that would be good for viewing?

Notams can be viewed graphically on this page.

http://notaminfo.com/ukmap

Change the box on the right hand side says "Show NOTAMs for " to 27 July and you can see the Reds' predicted flightpath.

If you drive up to the Carpark on the Hightown road beside the quarry/dump there is an easy path that'll take you all the way to the top it only gets steep about 2/3 the way up and should take about 20mins to reach the top, an alternative is to park at the Zoo and trek up past the caves! But that is a lot more difficult and takes longer. What I'll do is get the Wife to drop me off at the Hightown Road carpark and then head up to the top, and return via the caves, Zoo and Belview Arms! ;D

You would see practically nothing from there, Ringo, although the carpark at the Zoo might give you a view of them heading over Glengormley towards Belfast! The dander up the path is very easy, if this fat git can do it anyone could!
