Anyone that uses anyone of these lenses can you post what you genuinely think about them as I'm looking to get one for next year as my current 70-300mm L IS lens does not cut it. D'ont get me wrong its a fantastic lens and super quick with virtually no autofocus seeking but when 80% of the display is at distance  I'm not getting the shots I want.

Tamron are also releasing a Gen-2 version of their 150-600mm in the next few months, the MTF charts look good and should give the Sport a run for its money as well as being lighter.

Even 600mm is struggling for reach at modern air shows though, for anything other than the frontal-level-pass.  In my youth a 70-200 did the job!

The Sigma 150-600mm Sports is a heavy lens weighing in at 3kg. Hand holdable but probably only for sort lengths of time.

The lighter contemporary version weights in at 2kg and optically is almost as good, just cheaper and lighter and not weather proofed.

As smudge mentioned, Tamron are releasing a new version of their 150-600mm lens and it does look like a very interesting lens that may be worth waiting for.
