Bangor 1995 VE day celebrations
« on: May 09, 2023, 09:03:50 AM »
I can vaguely remember the celebrations as I was only a nipper but me and a friend were discussing it and I think I remember a Nimrod at it? Am I correct or was that another occasion as I remember it straight up as if going for a loop and it disappeared into the cloud. But my mate says it wasn't there but I could be wrong.

I was there but I don't remember the Nimrod. As far as I remember it was a Tornado (pair??) flypast?

Edit - It was the Red Arrows, Wingwalkers and a P51 Mustang

I recall VE celebrations at Langford Lodge, around this time... I think.

Whatever it was, Sally B was in attendance... I think...

Sally B was at Langford Lodge at some point, but I`m not sure if it was 1995 VE day.

Most of the aircraft displaying at the VE Day show were on static display at Aldergrove, end of runway 35 in the morning, including Sally B and a range of warbirds, plus a selection of RAF Aircraft.
I have photos somewhere I must dig out. You could have a look around Sally B for £2, it was so cramped inside.
I found one of a Swordfish from the RN Historic Flight.
