Title: Over Scotland, Tornado with ASCOT callsign
Post by: smudge on June 20, 2013, 10:23:19 AM
10:21 not coming near us but curiously ZA469 is transiting south over Galloway with callsign ASCOT 9501.

Seem naughty to be using an air transport callsign.  Shouldn't he be RAFAIR if not on a tasking?

Though actually he is broadcasting ASCT9501 as flight code.  Odd.

I'd be inclined to think that it's a badly set up  ADS transponder.

Edit - Nah, it's a GR4 alright, in fact it's a flight of them.  Atlantic outbound?
