I snapped these today - the Longranger and R44 were in for fuel between pleasure flights at the Lough Erne Golf Resort

You are very lucky i wish i could get as close to them. What would be your favorite
helicopter
-
Hard to pick one over all the rest,i particularly like the military helos.I've never seen the real thing but the Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion is a very impressive beastie 8)
-
I snapped this Jet Ranger for the first time today 8)

That is a cracking shot
-
Thanks!
The civil bird is immaculate - pity we don't see more of them. The only other ones i've seen are N565F and G-GAZL.
-
Fantastic shots there. And remind me, your have a fuji finepix camera? (Or was that someone else?) Enniskillen seems like a great airport for daily spotting with lots of helicopters movements.
-
Yes,my budget will only stretch to a Finepix S9600 :-\
Some days it gets quite lively - i'm lucky that i am a five minute walk from the action,so as soon as they are on the radio i am on my way ;)

Caught AW139 M-ERIT heading out this morning
(http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj122/vortex003/M-ERIT_2_270908.jpg)
8) :D
-
Now that's a very nice looking machine :)
-
Having seen your pictures, the Finepix S9600 seems like a good camera, although I guess its the owner thats creating the good shots, rather than the camera alone :)
-
It's a good camera to a certain extent.A bit slow when in 'continuous shoot' mode, and it sometimes struggles to focus when at full zoom but apart from that it does the job.
The AW139 is very impressive up close - i wouldn't mind a flight in one ;) ;)
-
This helo visited for a short while today

Saw one similar to that fly over around 2pm today
-
Departed approx 1330hrs so it may have been him ;)

I read elsewhere that the attachment on the Squirrel is a mapping system (LiDAR).The weather was awful when he came in for fuel, and he was grounded for two further days because of it.

Very nice shots. Love the floatation gear on the last helo. Think my New Years resolution will have to be to get to Enniskillen more often - only got to it once this year :(
-
It's a pity you guys are so far away as it's a bit 'hit and miss' so to speak,no guarantee as to what's going to turn up.It has been fairly quiet of late given the economic climate - hopefully it will pick up again soon.
-
Yep some nice pictures, nice one with the flotation gear, wish more helicopters would fly over coleraine or just land at Derry.
-
Great range of helo's up there at Enniskillen. I like EI-NBG!! All well captured aswell!
-
Got a couple more of G-BPRJ this afternoon

Those are cracking photos, I like the last shot, great catch! Glad you caught it! Where is it usually based?
-
It seems to be operating out of Sligo, standing in for EI-CXS - wherever it has disappeared to ???
-
Drat!!! :( I was going to head down to St.Angelo today but the forecast wasn`t too special and put me off.
I believe EI-GCE was involved in a rescue of a girl near the cliffs at Portrush last night.
-
Interesting. He didn't arrive here until 1630ish,but i'm not sure where from. They were on the ground for around 40 mins before departing to Sligo.
-
First time i've seen this Dauphin at EGAB,of course it had to be bucketing rain again aswell :( :(

Nothing else sounds similar - reminded me of the time when the Irish Air Corps variant visited before its retirement.'247' was in along with the tiger scheme Puma back in 2005.
-
Nice one. If it stayed any longer it might have needed that floatation gear :)
