So for the first time ever, I arose from my bed before midday on a Sunday in order to try out my new camera and lens for the first time (as well as preparation for the reds coming next week). It was a fantastic morning and despite being chilly at first, I was blessed with some sun towards midday. Anyhow, here are some of the aircraft movements from today.

In many of my photos, the aircraft fuselage is quite bright in the sunlight. Is there any way to reduce this in the future?
Regards,
Dave

Nice to see some of the big birds up close ;)

Excellent shots. What was the lens?
As for your 'problem' you might get some tips here

Oh by the way, I saw helicopter G-CGDW fly overhead twice, incase that's of any interest to you helicopter guys. I presume it's a Robinson or something.
Thanks for the comments, the lens was the Canon 70-300mm IS USM. Very happy with the lens, it seems to be perfect for aviation spotting at Belfast. I ordered a Kenko 1.5x convertor yesterday just to try it out for fun. It will reduce the light into the camera meaning almost certainly autofocus will stop functioning however I will see how it goes. It should work ok with manual focus but obviously for aviation spotting, automatic is best.

One last image. The BHD fire crew extinguish a practise fire. During my work experience there, I did the exact same thing, with the same fire crews :) Note the wind generator blades sticking up out of the Harland and Wolff dry dock in the background.

Opps sorry, I did indeed mistype it as it was actually G-CGWD. Sorry :-[
It has a white bottom and blue top.
Edit... by the way, thanks for the link Casper, it did help explain a few things to me.
