Title: Steam Excursion "Dublin Autumn Leaves"
Post by: casper on November 05, 2008, 10:29:15 PM
A chance to experience Autumn at is finest, from the seat of a restored steam train operating from Belfast to Dublin and back.  The train will leave our depot at Whitehead at 0950 and pickup passengers at Carrickfergus, Belfast Central, Lisburn and Portadown, dropping off at those stations on the way home.  Arrival in Dublin is at 1415 and departure from Dublin is at 1605.

I had planned to go on this steam engine trip however in the end, forgot to book the tickets :D

Instead I went plane and train spotting today and managed to catch the engine as she departed to Dublin.

Nice one. I forgot about it today and I just have to look out my living room window to see it passing :(
Were you spotting at Dublin airport?

I'm surprised you didn't hear it! Nice chugging noise to it. My dads a big railway fan so he was happy to get to see it, but I think he would rather have been on board it.

Unfortunately I didn't get down to Dublin today, although I went to both BFS and BHD so got a nice collection of photos. Cloudy weather though so their quality is limited. Cloudy weather will not prevent me from photographing aircraft! :)

Sorry misread your post. THought it said 'from Dublin' instead of 'to Dublin' :)
