Title: Pumas operating around South Lough Neagh
Post by: Angry Turnip on January 12, 2009, 10:52:39 PM
Noticed this week and last there has been a fair bit of Puma activity around South of Lough Neagh-Ballinderry,Aghalee and down towards Lurgan direction.

Sometimes at very low level (150-200ft or so)  ;D

Might be worth bringing the camera to work :)

Any idea of times. Knowing my luck I'll be working.

Usually from around 10.30 or so until dark-last week they were passing by my work every 20 mins or so.

Probably approach practise to R35 at Aldergrove, also saw them doing a few spiral decents over the Lough. ;D

Flights out of BFS in helis/light aircraft heading in a Westerly direction stay to the right of the A26/M1 on the way out and route back on the left side.

I've heard a few today but haven't had the chance to get outside - up to my eyes in work :(

They were out today again-a bit later though-around 11.30 before I saw one and was a bit too far over the Lough to get a decent pic.

Just heard 'Vortex013' talking to Aldergrove.First time i've heard the 'Vortex' callsign used by a Puma since the 'Tiger scheme' heli back in 2005. :D :D
