Title: Even models get investigated
Post by: casper on January 27, 2009, 12:25:37 PM
It would seem that even model aircraft accidents get investigated

Although I can see the reason for this one - being so close to Dublin Airport.

This one didn't fare so well - anyone else recall its demise at 'Ards 2007?

Yea I had just arrived and was talking to the guy at the model stand and he told me about the hawk getting ready for it's display. Couldn't really see it taking off but did see it do a few fly bys, looked away and the next thing a bang and then smoke. I'm sure it was an expensive crash.

That was a real shame-several thousand £`s worth gone-Did it actually hit the gull-that`s what it looked like from where I was.

Clips of it on You Tube.

I've heard that it was a bird strike but haven't seen it myself

I thought it was a dust spot in my first pic but upon closer inspection it does look like a gull departing the scene :D
Perhaps there was a few of them in the vicinity and one got splatted  :o ???
