Title: Nimrod MR4A at BFS
Post by: Angry Turnip on July 14, 2009, 11:50:18 PM
Nimrod did a quick touch and go at approx 1325 at BFS today before heading out on it`s patrol.Again didin`t get a pic but heard it and knew it sounded a bit different to the normal traffic.

I hoped it might have come a rounnd agin and had camera ready but had the radio on and he was heading West and climbing to 15,000ft so he was gone :'(

It was XW665 working ATC as Vulcan 51 and showing on SBS as WAD51

Ahhh no way, that would have been cool to see! Any reason for the touch and go? Just to give the personnel at BFS something exciting to see?

My mistake it was actually a Nimrod R.1

-touch and goes or brief visits to RAF Aldergrove are fairly common-sometimes practise diversions from the intended airfield or sometimes just a courtesy visit.
