Title: E-8C
Post by: Snoop55 on July 19, 2009, 10:11:59 AM
An interesting aircraft heard refuelling on the Flamboro AR track yesterday was ‘Palm 14’ an E-8C JSTARS 97-0200.  The aircraft was refuelled by ‘Quid 89’ a KC-135 flying out of RAF Mildenhall.  The boom frequency for the refuelling was 243.650.  Although the E-8C was showing up on SBS there was no Mode-S callsign attached.

Nice catch, I would love to catch a photo of a mid air refueling session! How long did you manage to track the flight for?

From my QTH I can usually pick up the aircraft as they make their entrance to the northern part of the track and can follow them south of Leuchars although I loose them before exiting the track.
