Title: Very First Camera you owned
Post by: Angry Turnip on July 23, 2009, 12:55:14 AM
What was the very first Camera you owned or used?

Mine was a Box Brownie from late 1950`s early 1960`s-a present from my Grandad in 1974 I think.
I was 6 at the time and loved cameras and taking pictures even then, but I always hated having my picture taken. :o

Mine was a Minolta X300. I think I bought it of my uncle sometime in the early 80s. It was a fantastic wee camera and I had it for a few years and then moved on to a Canon T90 - this was the best camera I ever had.

Hi Guys
My first camera was a Zenith E with a 50mm and a 300mm Paragon lens which my Dad bought for me on Jersey wilst on holiday the date was 13th July 1981 (still have the prints) I think the would lot cost £60.00.
Getting a really basic no auto focus no TTL ment I had the figure out how the basics of photograghy all worked really put me in good stead of course now I have all the kit with bells on, the point and shoot nature of modern camera is great until you get a situation outside the envelope.

Exactly-having to learn the hard way,but I think it is a good way to learn.

My first 35mm camera was a Praktica had a 50mm lens a 150mm lens and a 2x converter from Grattan Catalog 35p for 48 weeks etc Ha Ha.
It was really good camera, nice and heavy which I found good for airshows-used it a great deal at Ards for the early 80`s shows and got some pretty good results-My brother broke it-he brakes everything-numpty!

My first camera was a hand me down from my sister... some kids camera with a plastic tiger on front of it :'(

Got my first 'proper' camera in August 2008 - A Panasonic FZ18. After one trip to Portrush airshow 2008, the decision was made to quickly upgrade to an SLR, thus along came the Canon 400D in September/October  ;D

A Cosina CT1, I worked the whole of the summer when I was 15 to get it, What a day, We went to Belfast to Camera 1(I Think). Used it up until I was 32/33 and got it stolen. Thinking of getting a Canon or maybe a Sony Alpha.
