Title: Aircraft First Flights

I use Google Calendar quite a bit and I've just created a new one - Aircraft 1st Flights. I've started to populate it with 1st flights that I can find on Wikipedia but this tends to mean visiting a manufactures page on the site and going through their list of aircraft. Does any one know of a site that would list 1st flights? I've looked but no joy as yet.

On this Day in Aviation often includes a first flight but usually only for Uncle Sam's air-planes.

I'm not aware of a general list indexed by first flights, sounds like a great idea for crowd-sourcing.  Is your calendar editable by the hordes?

Thanks for that Smudge. The calendar can be shared but not sure what to do about that.

Another trick is to pull the "first flew" results out of aviastar.org

I don't feel too bad about doing that because he copied all his content from other peoples' books!

21 September 1942:  first flight of the Boeing B-29, serial 41-002.

Flew for 65 minutes under the command of Eddie Allen who would later perish with his crew in the crash of another prototype B-29 ( 41-003 ) due to an engine fire, which was common in the early-production R-3350 engines.

I found a few for today........

1st flight of the North american XB-70 Valkyrie in 1964. 8)

1st flight of the Dassault Falcon 900 in 1984,

Also 2005 this day Jet Blue flt 292 an A320,got it`s nose wheel stuck at 90 degree angle,shown live on US TV.

Wow, just 22 years from the B-29 to the B-70.  From 310 kts to 1,800. 

Another 24 years to the B-2 at 540 kts.
