Seems like there are possible plans afoot, if the airport can stay open for the next four or five years .....

its just a bit of poking a bit of reaction in government and the regions by the airline
Free publicity
If the B gets the slots they will hold them and demand a payment to operate the route then sell at first opportunity
Unless its a commuter runway you wont see an A380 on short finals following a Dash will you ?
and why build a short runway after all the hassle of uprooting a village
But if it happens it will be great for the North west
