I've never seen a C-130 used in this role before - near the end of the video

Some USAF ANG units have slide-in fire-fighting equipment, as is being used by the Brazilian Herks in Chile. The main problem they've experienced is trying to keep crews fresh on firefighting-style flying.
Lots of updates and some dramatic photos from Chile here:

RIAT 1999 a USAF C-130 did a fire fighting demo

I remember one at Air Fete a lot longer ago!
Big day-glo number on the tail.

A remember seeing a video of a C-130 on fire fighting duties, but the wings buckled under the strain, and folded up,causing the aircraft to crash with the loss of all on board-very sad.

I'd say, with the fire so close to them, those lines have probably been taken out of service. Probably needed a wash!

Has anyone watched "Outback Pilots" ?
They showed a Helicopter team with a 5 metre power washer lance .... washing live HV powerlines...
No amount of physics theory would have me doing that...
