Congrats on the first upload to A.net! Hopefully the first of many.
I must admit, I have recently found it difficult uploading to airliners.net, I just can't nail the soft/sharpness in the shots :-[

Know what you mean. Out of the last half-dozen photos I've submitted to A.net only 1 was accepted. I'm using the workflow that some of the others have posted here but that still doesn't seem to be enough.
What I found most ironic was that I'd submitted one of the photos I took of the Harriers at Aldergrove to both JetPhotos and A.net. JetPhotos accepted it and A.net rejected it because it was too dark ::) Anyone who was at Aldergrove that day will know it wasn't too dark. If anything it was too bright!!

Quite interestingly I have just recieved a rejection email from JP for this exact same photo! The reason given is:
Bad Color (Over/Under Saturation, Hue) / Screener's Comment: Red Cast
So can any of you guys help me figure out whats wrong and if there is an easy way to fix it up. Sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to fix.
Cheers

I can see the red cast but would have put it down to the lighting/time of day. Unfortunately all screening is subjective - what one passes another will reject. In fact I just recently had one rejected by both - one said it was soft the other said it was the wrong/missing category, no mention of softness.
If you have photoshop open the image and select Image>adjustments>Hue/Saturation
In the Edit drop down select Reds and play with the sliders until the red cast reduces. The only problem, however is that you will start to lose the red trim on the aircraft. Try selecting this trim and inversing the select so that you're working on everything but that. Hope this makes sense :)
