Work has commenced on the Belfast International Airport Environmental Protection Works Scheme. Works involve the construction of a new storm drainage system through the airfield, water quality monitoring station, attenuation and pumping station. The purpose of the new drainage system is to carry contaminated runoff mainly de icier from the existing runway drainage and process it through filtration with clean storm water in an attenuation tank system.
