With the RAF due to put-up a 'maximum effort' Royal Review flypast on 13 July 2018 I thought I'd dig-out some details of the Review of 15 July 1953.
Interestingly nine Shackletons from Ballykelly were involved amongst the 641* aircraft flying in procession :o
Do we even have that many airframes nowadays?
* well OK deduct the Canucks and Aussies and it was just 593...

I may have some old photos of this in a book somewhere. I would have loved to be alive back then. If time travel does ever become a reality in our time, I think I know where I am going lol.
I'll see if I can find them.

Even the more recent review at Finningley in 1977 produced an interesting array of aircraft.
Some of those in attendance https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/airshow/Finningley%20-%20Queens%20Silver%20Jubilee%20Review%20of%20the%20RAF%20-%201977

Excellent, thank you! 318 more on static, incredible. Almost more than I could look at! But not quite.

Great stuff from the chaps at Pathe News. :)

A great pity not to have the numbers any longer. Great to look back. Reminds me of what we used to see at Aldergrove, etc.
