Very nice series. I never get tired of looking at close ups of tire smoke - weird or what :) Looking forward to heading back down sometime next year.

Fantastic series of shots Don. I must say everytime you nip over to the local, you come back with better and better pics each time  8) . Nice to see that ANA A320 (or A319?) in Dublin. It's not an airline I've heard of! I would love to squeeze one more Dublin in before the new year... maybe when the misses flies into Dublin on the 27th December.

How easy is to get to Dublin Airport?! I'm heading down there on the train on Tuesday on what was meant to be a few hours photo-ing Dublin City Centre. But I arrive in at 10am and need be back at the train station by 4.30pm-ish. Thems sounds like spotting hours to me!

Dave could answer this better but I'd say the bus would be the easiest option.

Where is it you are trying to get to for the day? Spotting at Dublin Airport or a day's photographing in Dublin City Centre? The bus is the easiest way to get down to Dublin Airport as it's pretty much direct.

Haven't exactly made my mind up yet! Just booked the train ticket as Translink had the offer on! Would a bus pick me up near Connoly? Depends on what the weathers looking like as well. If it looks dodgy I plan on maybe going to Croke Park for the stadium tour.

Well the bus from Belfast goes to Dublin Airport and then carries on into Dublin City Centre, so you could probably decide at the airport if the weathers good enough for spotting, and if it isn't then you could head on into Dublin. I've not taken the train to Dublin before so I can't compare. The price of a return ticket on the bus is between £16 and £20 I think.

Oh I already have the train ticket paid for. Was only £7.50 for the day return. There's bound to be a bus from Connolly to the Airport

Thanks for the kind comments guys, I'm slowly starting to get to grips with working the settings on the camera to get the best out of it... ???                              As for your trip tomorrow Kingsavo, it looks like there will be rain spreading in from late morning according to the latest forecast
Quote
Rain later in the morning and the afternoon.  High 11 to 13C. Southerly winds will be fresh and blustery.
However a lot of the time the rain does not reach Dublin due to the effect of the Wicklow mountains.... If the wind is from the south they will probably be using Runway 16 which is the runway we arrived back from Madrid on  8)    The bus from Connolly station is the airlink one which only stops at the terminal and comes up the motorway so you cant get off before getting to it... it also costs €6 each way compared to €2.20 on the regular bus service.... its a 10-15 min walk from the station to where you can get the 41b ...http://www.dublinbus.ie/en/Your-Journey1/Timetables/All-Timetables/41b/    I hope this is of some help to you....  Also im off work this week so if you would like some company send me a PM and we can arrange to meet up.... ;D

Its looking good from Thursday on.... 8)

From Thursday onwards the weather will begin to settle as a large areaof High pressure moves close to Ireland, and there will then be anextended period of much drier and calmer weather. It should remainlargely dry, if not completely dry, for the weekend and the early daysof next week, although night-time fog may be slow to clear through theday. Initially it will be relatively mild for the time of year and thefrost at night will be limited. But from the end of the weekend intothe early days of next week the wind direction will change north tonortheast and it will get colder by several degrees with more severefrosts at night.

That would make sense... the livery looks like a government livery. Nice catch none the less! I had a sneaky trip down to Dublin today however the sun wasn't out much and my toes pretty much fell off in the coldness!
