Title: Scampton & Linton-On-Ouse to close.

Scampton by 2022, Linton by 2020.

Must say I'm surprised by Scampton going.  Suspect the Reds will end up at Valley.

Looks highly likely that in the near future there'll only be a few dedicated operational RAF  stations. Valley training Marham F35s Lossiemouth Maritime Shawbury helicopter Cranwell Initial Officer training Coningsby etc.  Some of these closing stations could go to the Army.  Most probably be sold off at a loss.

For contrast here's the map of stations we used when I was a space cadet.  I remember when Summer Camp was announced each year we had to search the list to find the new and unfamiliar name. 

No such problem these days I'm sure :(

I remember that list well.It`s sad to hear of RAF bases closing,but such is the nature of these things.Conningsby isn`t that far away if the Reds wanted to shift there.

I'd be worried if they announce an expensive program of upgrades.
