Post by: Furryforest on November 11, 2020, 06:52:55 PM: I’m trying to find out information on Wessex XT456 that is currently laid up at BFS.

I’ve been told a story about it’s demise but I’m trying to find out anymore details/corroborate what I’ve been told.

So far I’ve found that it was a Royal Navy helo.

On a tangent, here's a wee snippet of its adventures in the South Atlantic in 1982.

It was damaged in a tornado at RAF Luqa Malta October 1971 and has been at Aldergrove since Nov 1987

Going by a photo it looks like she was close to the big blue building close to the Trident. But I've been over that way on a tour and don't remember seeing XT456.
