I’m trying to find out information on Wessex XT456 that is currently laid up at BFS.
I’ve been told a story about it’s demise but I’m trying to find out anymore details/corroborate what I’ve been told.
So far I’ve found that it was a Royal Navy helo.
Cheers in advance

Last time I seen her you could see the bullet holes riddled all around the engine...

That's the story i'm trying to find out but drawing a blank on the internet

It was assigned to the Battle Damage Repair Team at Aldergrove as 8941M which would explain its ventilated state.
On a tangent, here's a wee snippet of its adventures in the South Atlantic in 1982.

I found this pic taken early 2000`s.
It was damaged in a tornado at RAF Luqa Malta October 1971 and has been at Aldergrove since Nov 1987

Where is she sitting at Aldergrove? Don't remember ever seeing her, even when airside. Going by a photo it looks like she was close to the big blue building close to the Trident. But I've been over that way on a tour and don't remember seeing XT456.

It used to be same area as the Trident near the old Woodgate Hanger but I think it may have been moved.

She’s still beside the Trident
