Ive finally booked a trial flying lesson through belfast' flying club homepage. I cant wait. No dates have been confirmed. Cant wait! :D It was £99, not bad for 45mins flying and yes i get to control the aircraft. Only one other person is allowed to come with me and im going to take my girlfriend, Laura. :D
I'm going to fly a plane! Ahhhh!

Congrats! Enjoy it all you can, it's really quite an experience. Don't worry about the actual flying, even as a 13 year old kid I found it easy to keep it in control, which surprised me at first. Don't forget to get lots of pictures!

oh will of course, i cant forget my digital camera however im not sure if they will let me take photos. Because im going for my work experience in the control tower of aldergrove and there are no cameras allowed, no mobile phones etc allowed. I think they might see it as a breach of security?

The control tower is one thing, flying is totally different. I'm positive you'll be allowed a camera.

Brilliant news. My wife is always asking if I would like a trial lesson, but I keep putting her off. I know I'll enjoy it too much and would want to start taking proper lessons - couldn't afford a complete course - although I could always sell the house and put my wife and kids out on the street ;D ;D
As for the camera, I think most of the flying clubs actually encourage you to take a camera. You'll also find that because you live so close to Aldergrove they'll fly you over your house :)
Let us know how it goes and post any photos that you take.

Maybe you could do that, lol. will do. ill put any photos that i get up.
