Post by: casper on January 20, 2007, 05:09:38 PM
The US military says one of its helicopters has come down north-east of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, killing all 13 people on-board.

The military did not say what caused the helicopter to crash and the incident is now under investigation.

Any word on what type?  I assume it's a Blackhawk.

Very sad.  :(

I would assume Blackhawk as well, but the Marines also operate CH-53s in Iraq

There still seems to be some confusion as to what caused the crash -

It seems that most of those killed belonged to the National Guard and this is their single biggest lose since Korea
