Title: Battle of Britain Airshow 2010
Post by: Merlin on May 20, 2010, 12:49:25 PM
Had a brilliant idea of organising a day trip over to Duxford to see this show which is on in September.

Ash cloud permitting I can get a return flight to Stansted (Ryanair) and then either train/bus or hire car to Duxford which is 10 miles up the road.

My question is has anyone here been to the show before and can provide any insights regarding getting to and from Duxford?

Is a day trip from here too ambitious?

I would say doing it in a day would be no problem, however the fact that it's on the same time as Portrush is a pity as I would love to get back over to Duxford as it was 20 years since I was there last,

I wonder if it would be worth trying to organise a day trip over to the Museum sometime?
Its full of lots of great exhibits....http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.55 (http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.55)

Both shows are on over two days so was thinking I'd go over on the Saturday and then head up to Portrush for the Sunday. Red Arrows will be at Duxford on the Saturday so I'd be able to catch them there.
