Nice shots - love the flex in the wing. Gives you a better idea of what she is really like than the Paine Field shots I've seen before.

Very Interesting.

Not sure about the flexing of the wings. - If its like this on take-off just imagine what a nervous flyer will be like seeing them going through some terbulence??

Interesting to see that Boing is going for the smaller aircraft to take them into the future while Airbus has went for the huge option.

I wonder who will be more successful?

Yes, Boeing's more interested in the speed option now.  Airbus has picked up the size option and has so far done a great job.  It'll be interesting to know what the 787 will be like once it goes into service.

As for which side will get the most success, well that's tough to predict as those aircraft are very different.  No doubt both aircraft have lists of things that the other aircraft can't do/doesn't have.  I guess we'll have to wait and see who gets the most success.

Is the A350 not the Airbus answer to the 787 and the 747-8I Boeing's reply to the A380?

Yes, the A350 was designed to compete with both the 787 and the 777.  Not sure if the 747-8 was designed as a direct competitor against the A380, but no doubt they'll be in competition for the longer routes.

Looking around the net, there's more than a few sites which have pages about trying to compare the 787 and the A380, even though those aircraft are so so different from each other.   I guess the only way to compare them is how well they do in service.

Nice to see Boeing using a more distinctive nose profile on the 787-I think it looks very good indeed.

I`m not a great fan of the A380;I think it is an ugly beastie ;)
