Title: Boeing 'received $24bn in US aid'
Post by: casper on March 23, 2007, 11:04:21 AM
The European Union (EU) has accused the US of giving Boeing almost $24bn (£12.2bn) in state aid.
In the latest round of a long row over aircraft subsidies, the EU said this had hurt sales of Airbus planes.

The claim came in written evidence to a World Trade Organisation (WTO) panel probing the EU's complaint against Washington DC.

The transatlantic dispute over illegal aircraft assistance is the biggest to come before the global arbiter.

I think Airbus' own incompetence is what's hurting their sales.  They really screwed up with the A380, and they're going to pay the price.  I'm sure they've gotten just as much, if not more, government money as Boeing. ::)

You're probably right but I think what's hurting Airbus is the fact that the A380 is so big that there's few airports in the world can handle it. I can't see it selling well, in the near future anyway.
