Title: Trip to Dublin in May
Post by: Merlin on March 18, 2011, 10:40:13 AM
While it was already suggested going to Dublin in May to see Air Force 1, I realised last night that the Europa League final is also on in May in Dublin (Wednesday 18th).

With all the remaining UK teams eliminated last night it now means an international final with the teams from Spain, Portugal, Holland, Russia and Ukraine all in the running.

I'd assume that there will be charter flights laid on for the fans coming over so it might be worth a visit to see what turns up.

What's does everyone else think?

Nice one Dec! The finals on Wednesday 18th May. I'll certainly be trying to head down. From a spotting perspective, a final with either FC Spartak Moskva (RUS) or FC Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) would be good, might bring in some russian aircraft  ;D  I imagine most of the fans will be arriving on the day rather than the day before.

Never good to see your team beaten but with no English or Scots teams in the draw it should be a good day out in May :)

Between Obama, The Queen and the football it should be a very interesting Month for Dublin airport... ;D

The Queen's visit to Ireland has been announced as starting on 17th May, the day before the Europa League Final, and lasting 4 days.

Nicely timed, now all we need is Obama on the 19th  ;D

I think I read somewhere though that the Queen's flight would be using Baldonnel rather than Dublin, and doesn't see use a BAe 146 these days, so there wouldn't be anything massively septacular in?

Could be a 146 or possibly a HS125;could even be a leased aircraft C560 for example.
