Hi guys with permission I am able to advise you of the possible arrival of 2 GR4s into Aldergrove between 5pm and 6pm tonight weather permitting. I'll try and update later.
John
-
According to weather forecast it's to pick up later in the afternoon, so being hopeful :) May even get a race down.
-
5pm looking very likely callsign Stella.
-
Looks like I'll be heading down. If wind direction is right I'll be parked at Killead Road - black Rover car full of kids :)
-
Do you know if they are landing or doing approach and go arounds?
-
I believe to land and possible overnight might get more later. Hope to be at Kilead but timing will be tight. I'll update when i can.
-
any more word on this definitely happening? they arriving together or separately? thanks
-
My last word it is on about 5pm and a two ship.
-
They arrived at 5:15pm did a fast approach then a break. Did missed approach and came round again. Finally landed. Will post photos later.
-
I saw them from the car when I was on my way home-thanks for the tip off Canon John, unfortunatly I was out all day in work van so didn`t know about it until it was too late.
Was that Paultojo I saw standing at Ballyrobin today watching them? :)

WOW great shots casper. loved the duo.
-
Super pics - nice payload onboard aswell ;D
-
Thanks guys. Pure coincidence that I got them - CanonJohn's heads-up and I just happen to have today and the next few off work :)
-
Nice shots Casper and nice also to meet you. I couldn't get out of work on time for the arrival but glad the heads up was useful. The 4 guys would like to the see the shots. I was told that was the sort of action we could expect on arrival.
I had the tip on Saturday from a local Pilot; Lossie 03, he was the back seater in ZG756 as today he was checking out his colleague. He texted me last night and today as well as a phone call to confirm their arrival. 4 nice guys who had plenty of time to chat and show us their toys. He invited us onto the base for a few shots so not too disappointed to have missed the arrival. I should add he is very keen to make aquaintance with the local Aviation scene. Their departure is about 10am tomorrow and he has promised a two ship out over Bangor.
-
Hi CanonJohn and it was very nice to meet you to. It's nice to put faces to names. Hope you got some decent shots (looking forward to seeing them). Pity they couldn't do a detour over Lurgan :)
-
Excellent shots Casper, the first one is great.
-
Good job Casper. ;D
-
Great shot`s Casper 8) ,if only I`d known about this earlier I would have joined you-oh well, that`s what happens when you get lumbered with doing a delivery run;at least I got to see them from the car on my way home and didn`t put it in the hedge watching them. ;D
-
When John posted here I phoned my dad and asked him if he wanted to tag along. He's 70 and has never been spotting or seen a Tornado, so he said he'd love to. Was great for him to see 2 Tornados, an AN-12 and a Sea King all in the space of 45 minutes - plus one or two regulars. He says he thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Don't know if you noticed Paul but that was me coming out of Killead as you were turning in off the main road.
-
Yep saw you was heading in for a closer look at the two visitors

Did you get a closer look?
Not as close as John lost my photo accreditation when the Army took over so no snaps.
Nice photos

As I mentioned to Paul on the other site, Fighter Control, I got the details Saturday and he stayed in touch with me on Tuesday and Wednesday by text. He then phoned me lunchtime Wednesday to confirm the arrival and happy to let others know. The four crew were very patient and informative allowing us to look around and in the aircraft. He would be happy to take part in a session for the group if we wanted. i owe him a few beers for sure!!!
-
Thats a good contact you have John! Just tell him to make weekly trips and we will all be happy!
I take it these are 15 Sqn pilots finishing the training?
-
wow im EXTREMELY jealous John :)
fantastic shots with great angles on the photos
Enjoy mate
-

Can't promise how often but Lossie 03 has promised to keep me informed of any movements. He was spot on with this effort even promised the Bangor Departure. Here's looking forward to more and if you happen to log in thanks again to Lossie 03 (Ian).
