For a first attempt they're very good. Having said that they're a wee bit on the dark side. Do you have a photo editing package e.g. Photoshop? If you have you could lighten them a bit and they'd be a lot better.

But as I said very well done for a first attempt :)

Hope you don't mind but I lightened one just to see the difference.

Much much better. Another thing to look out for, not just in aviation photography but in photography in general, is slanted verticals. If you can straighten them it's better :)

BTW forgot to say that the sunset is fantastic.

Firstly, I like the sunset shot, very nice  8)

Aviation photography when it's dull and cloudy can be very challenging. When the fuselage appears darker than the background, it's time to pack up and go home for me. Having said that, I wouldn't even venture to the airport if it's cloudy to begin with unless there's something interesting arriving in!  ;D

Good effort's for your first time in challenging conditions. I'd agree with Casper, level the pictures using vertical references, should only take a second using photoshop.  :)  Hopefully you will find things a lot easier during sunnier/brighter conditions. Looking forward to seeing more piccies!
