Just my luck a lufthansa A380 flew right over my head this morning but the bloody clouds covered but it made a great noise as it flew by.
-
And yet again bad luck this time an Air france A380 flew over but it was raining so no sighting but nice sound from the engines again.
>:( >:( >:(
-
I saw it just as it peeped out through the cloud.

hi Angry Turnip .. bit of a swerve from this thread but just seen your pic of the Piper PA-31-350 Navajo OY-NJV ... it circled Newcastle 4 or 5 times on Wednesday morning. We get quite a lot of "sightsee'rs" above here but it stuck out 'cos of its "heavy" engine noise and the purple tail fin.

Just to make you feel worse String, here's one I photographed last week while back home in West London ;D

PS I have the Planefinder app on iPhone and the recent update alows you to set alerts when a certain aircraft type flies over a designated area so I get advanced warning when a 380 is about to fly over Craigavon.

Nice one Paul. I didn't know about the alert on the app, but I do now :)

Brilliant photo, I will have to get over to heathrow someday. Sadly don't have an iphone but i just look at the site to see what may fly over.

There's a few people talking about a trip to Heathrow in another topic. That photo was actually taken 10 miles away from Heathrow. I usually take a wee trip to Myrtle Avenue across the road from runway 27L but I decided to take all my shots from my local park in Fulham.
