Finally found out how to make a thread/topic what you guys think of flybe performance as an airline? i always get a bad feeling from them!!

I don't like their hidden charges, and because of that I refuse to fly with them! I can't remember the exact costs but I was looking to booking a flight from Belfast to Glasgow and they were offering a "Free" flight, but with their "Charges etc" it worked out more expensive than an Easyjet flight priced at £20 before charges! I rang them up to get an explanation of the charges, didn't get one and was abruptly told if I didn't like it don't fly with them, so I won't!

Yeah man your right one time when i was working in England I had to get a urgent flight booked it and they tried to charge me 150 quid for baggage and it wasn't that heavy! i was crazy angry and just don't like their planes those turboprops feel not safe to fly in. been a few reports on them lately cheapskate airline i think and due an accident soon if they are not careful!!
everyone uses jets why not them!

I've no problems with the Aircraft they use, turboprops are ideal for the short hops from BHD! I think the Q400 are safe enough even though there have been a few undercarriage incidents while in use with SAS! And while I wouldn't want to fly with them, for Customer Service reasons, I wouldn't like to "Scud" them either by saying they are due an accident! I work too close to rwy22 to have that happen!

I've found Flybe quite a reasonable airline. All airlines, particularly the low cost airlines have hidden fees, such as for putting luggage in the hold, credit/debit car charges as well as charging for seat selection. Putting these things aside, they're quite a decent airline. The Dash 8 Q400's can be a bit noisey, especially between the props in rows 8-10, but that aside, they're quite sturdy, well built aircraft, so nothing to fear there. And the Embraer's are fantatsic aircraft to fly, spaceous legroom and large windows.
On occassions, a Flybe aircraft will have to divert due to low visibility conditions where as other airlines will have no problems landing, I can't remember the reasons, something possibly related to CAT approaches certification. I have only had to divert once due to this.
All in all, a respectable airline. I just wish they had a Jersey European retro aircraft 8)

I think it`s rather stupid to say that they are due an accident-Flybe operate just like any other budget airline,but this does not mean they compromise on safety.
Turboprops may not be to everyones taste,but that doesn`t mean they are dangerous aircraft.They are rather noisey, but they are more fuel efficent than most jets for short routes,and cheaper to operate.
I would agree they are fairly expensive,and I don`t like sneeky hidden charges either,but there are far worse airlines out there.

Its a fair point saying that it was silly to say it.i after reading up on the plane itself the q400s are quite good an aircraft. its probably the customer service i don't like! actually i found flybe to be the cheapest of the rest in UK routes.

I compared flybe to Easjet again last night for flights to Paris in October, they were by far more expensive more than twice the price, but on a plus note, it was a lot more expensive to fly from Glasgow to Paris on the same days! MY Wife is meeting her Sister in Paris, with her sister traveling from Glasgow! I still think Flybe add on a little bit of their own to the taxes and "other charges"! Again I've no qualms about their aircraft or safety, but there is no excuse for bad customer service! I guess it's down to personal experiences, I personally like Jet2 and easyjet.....and very fondly remember the Belfast to Luton service operated by Britannia until they disposed of their 737s!
