Title: Black AS355 out of Ards 09:30
Post by: smudge on November 28, 2012, 10:49:46 AM
It's back... the black Ecureuil with lateral booms departed from Ards around 09:30 today heading NW.

Looks like some sort of geo-magnetic sensors on the ends of the booms.

Here was a snap of it from March:

Hi I have seen G-PDGR on the boxes for a couple of days. I think it's a Dark Purple colour maybe involved in Line checking?

G-BXGA was flying out of 'Ards yesterday - and the equipment is for LIDAR (http://www.pdghelicopters.com/aerial-surveys.html) surveys.

It's a maroon / brown helicopter (AS350B2)

Thanks guys - I was up the Lead Mines as it lifted-off from the airfield so no registration ID, sorry.  Pretty much a black blob with sticky-out bits at that distance.

Didn't hear it sneak back in later, either.
