As well as the display line being set where it is (the high ground presumably also influencing this), several of the pilots yesterday advised that there was moderate turbulence at low level.  That may also have influenced some to stay a bit further away from Bray Head.

Lancaster was not due to land in any case.

Lancaster returned to England apparently instead of landing in Dublin. Wind too high it is being said.

Few pics online, everything looked really far out into the bay except the Royal Jordanian Falcons and Helicopters.
People moaning ( as ever ) the Red Arrows did not do a flypast at Bray before landing at Dublin Airport.

The weather for tomorrow looks dreadful, 80% chance of heavy rain from 3pm until after 7pm

Lancaster flew with 3 IAC PC9s to 'honour Sinéad O’Connor.'

Watching ADSB it looked like the Viggen was quite far out.

1445 I see Lancaster PA474 over Liverpool area on ADSB, due to display at Bray at 3pm I think.

Yes that`s pretty much how it looked, the aircraft came in very low, which they sometimes need to do to hit their target, clipped a tree/bush which sheared a wing float off.
The aircraft continued to roll to the right in a steep bank, and appeared to stall, with no room to recover. A terrible tragedy. :(

It was a Canadair CL-215-1A10 Reg 1055, from 355th Tactical Transport Squadron of the 112th Combat Wing of the Greek Air Force.

If anyone who has seen the video it looks as if it clipped a tree on the starboard wing as you can see a yellow piece come off (which I think it's the float) and then it banks over.

Both pilots of a Greek Air Force firefighting aircraft have been killed, after their aircraft crashed during a mission over the island of Evia. RIP
There is a video of the incident,( which I did not post up ), it looks to be a CL-215 involved, the Greek Air Force operate both the CL-215 and CL-415 water bombers.
