Video: Tornado,Typhoon,Spatan,AMX & M346 from Italy
« on: June 24, 2008, 04:20:37 PM »
Here come the last two videos I have edited.
The first one shows airshow footage of the lead in trainer Aermacchi M346,
the light strike fighter AMX, the tactical transport C-27J Spartan and the fighter bomber Tornado, all of them from Italy

The second one includes a demonstration carried out by an Eurofighter Typhoon also from Italy.

I hope you like them!

Very nice as usual. I know they're build for the sky but I just loved the way the Typhoon taxied past the crowdline.

Hi Casper, next video will be a Typhoon demo from your country, with better footage.
The Typhoon is a good looking machine (and a great weapon system), but I prefer the Tomcat, don't you?  ;) I noticed today that your favourite plane was the F-14...Well in fact, the tomcat is my favourite airplane too, I was lucky enough to see it flying one time, it was in Nellis Open House in 2004, I was impressed, that was like a dream. I saw the F-14 demo flown by the former tomcat demo team (VF-103 guys), Rocco and Roll were the pilot and RIO respectively...since then I have seen more airshows with great airplanes which were more agile, which had more low speed control, more thrust to weight ratio, ...but nothing was closer to see and hear the last of the Grumman cats. Did you ever see it flying?

By the way, will you manage to go to Farnborough this year?

Alejandro
Once a Tomcatter, always a Tomcatter!

Unfortunately not :( Being in Ireland we tend not to get anything like that visiting these shores. Although many years ago (back in the late 80s) I did get a chance to see a F-4 Phantom II display in Southern Ireland and I have to say that it probably comes in a close second to my favourite aircraft.

Again unfortunately not :( Left it too late this year to get anything organised - wife working, kids are off school etc etc :(

Casper, I thought you were from UK.
Well UK is relatively close, and there are a lot of good shows, however as you said, you need to plan it in detail, which isn't always easy. I will try to take some good footage from the show, It won't be the same as being there but...

I saw some F-4C flying in Torrejon (Spain) in the 80s, I was a child at that time, but I have never seen a Phanton demo, I had to be really good, with all its noise, power, and with his huge smoke trails that are like smoke generators.
