EGAC - 05-04-09

Spent a good hour today at the City Airport with my youngest son. Was a wee bit blustery but I think I got a few reasonable images - here's the first two. Will post a few more when I have time.

What shutter speed were you using?I was experimenting with 125 - 250 a few times to get some rotor blur but the pics all turned out overexposed in the sunshine :(This camera struggles to focus at times too which can be a real pain and costs me a lot of pics :-X :-X

Thanks. Focal length was 240mm, shutter speed 1/80th. This was the best of a sequence of 5 shots.

Impressive panning shots  ;D And you got the Geroge Best plane as wel. it seems to be on the route here more often, as my friend flew on it to Exeter on Friday morning, whilst I caught it with the same friend the day before.

Did your son enjoy the time there? Unfortunately Ikea can get quite windy, especially the top two levels however it is possible to escape the wind by going down to the fence beside (or behind) the bus stop :)

He did indeed. In fact he brought his mums digital compact and wants to know if I'll post his pictures here :) I'll post some when I get them of the camera.

Couldn't believe the turnaround of the little LETS twin prop - from landing to take-off again was only around 25 minutes.

We used to turn them around in 20 mins at BFS and that icluded refuel.

Great little aircraft the Let 410-has a small baggage hold in the nose which is very important to close properly-I have heard of bags leaving mid-flight :o due to the locks not being correctly set.
